Introduction

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that allows AI applications to connect with external tools and data sources in a consistent, secure way. Think of it as a universal language that lets AI assistants communicate with different systems; whether that's your company's internal tools, third-party APIs, or intelligent workflow platforms like Tines Stories.

Learning objectives

By the end of this module, you'll be able to:

  • Explain what the Model Context Protocol (MCP) is and why it matters for AI integrations.

  • Build and configure MCP servers in Tines Stories, including adding tools and setting up access control.

  • Connect external MCP clients to your Tines Stories MCP servers and understand protocol details and limitations.
