Search reference
Use this page to look up a case search parameter, the properties inside it, and the operators it offers. For text matching, filter groups, and examples, see Searching and filtering.
The filter menu groups parameters in the order below.
How operators are labeled
For many parameters, the label follows the number of values you select:
One value uses is or is not.
Two or more values use is any of or is none of.
is all of stays available on parameters that can match several values on one case, such as tags and assignees.
Text operators, such as contains all and contains phrase, keep the same label however many words you type. Date parameters use before, after, and a range.
Case details
A case has one status and one priority, so those parameters do not offer is all of. is all of on a tag matches cases that have every tag you select.
People
People pickers include Current user. Author also includes Automation, for a case with no identifiable user author. Assignee is empty means the case is unassigned.
Dates
Created, Updated, Opened, and Resolved use these operators:
before
after
a range, including the presets Today, Yesterday, 7 days, 31 days, and 365 days
is empty
is not empty
Date filters use the team's working timezone.
SLAs
SLA status and SLA type are separate filters. Add both when the case must match a type and a status.
Content
Field and Metadata each take one key. Add another filter to match a second field or metadata key.
is not empty on a field or metadata key matches cases where that key has a value. is empty matches cases where it does not.
The record filter checks every field on records linked to the case. The stored value must equal what you type, so Tines matches "Tines" and login does not match "login failed." The filter takes one value. To match either of two values, put two record filters in an OR group. A record filter that matches more than 10,000 cases is rejected. Use a more specific value.
Comment, note, and task
These parameters open properties. Add another property on the same filter when both must apply to the same comment, note, or task.
Comment author and task assignee include Current user. Completed is true or false.
