In this blog post, Julia Grabos answers five questions about herself and gives an insider's view about what it's like to work as a software engineer at Tines.

1. Can you tell us a little more about yourself?

"My name is Julia, and I am a Software Engineer at Tines. I joined Tines as a recent graduate after getting my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science at University College Cork. I was very honored to be nominated for Blossom Capital's International Women’s Day campaign this year by my team and become one of the winners. At Tines, I get the opportunity to reach peak creativity when approaching problem-solving and delivering features to our customers."

2. What do you do at Tines?

"As a Software Engineer at Tines, I work on the product spanning all areas across frontend, backend, and infrastructure. As part of my work, I frequently use Tines in a “dogfooding” initiative to automate many areas of how we deliver the product and related services to our customers."

3. What’s the coolest thing you’ve worked on at Tines to date?

"By far the coolest thing I've had the opportunity to work on is using Tines itself to create the Community Edition tenant provisioning mechanism. We use Tines to deliver Tines to our customers in a sort of “Inception” manner. Not only is it cool to be the end-user of the features I write the code for on a daily basis, but it also allows me to identify any shortcomings or bugs, resulting in an overall better experience for our customers."

4. Who or what has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work?

"My engineering team is very much people-oriented and favors tooling or automation over process and checklists. Everybody’s approach towards continuous improvements to the code base and creating an easier and faster work environment gives me huge inspiration to approach my work in the same fashion when it comes to contributing to the product. Clean, simple, and well-tested code changes ensure we can deliver large quantities of impactful features in a quick turnaround."

5. What do you like to do outside of work?

"When I'm not working, I indulge in playing online video games with my friends. Additionally, I enjoy personal fitness at the gym."
