Record List actions get cursor pagination, multi-field sorting, and lighter queries

Records and dashboards, Actions
Carl Hauck

Record List actions are now faster and more flexible. To reduce unnecessary work and give builders more control on requesting records, we made these improvements:

  • Cursor pagination – Page through results with a token instead of an explicit page number, so retrieving large result happens seamlessly.

  • Optional total counts – Turn off "Include total count" to skip counting all matching records when a story only needs the next batch. This is now the default for new List actions.

  • Multiple sort fields – Add more than one sort to break ties—for example, sort by category, then by priority. Builders can reorder or remove sorts, and both numbered and cursor pages honor the order.

We also relabeled the Record action's "Query" mode to "Aggregate" to match the records API.
