The Tines platform: a look back at 2025

2025 was a time of innovation, creativity, and celebration within Tines. Our product, design, and engineering team entered the year with a shipping goal of 250 “What’s new” posts. We proudly surpassed that goal, and as of the end of December, we shipped 357 product updates for 2025. And that doesn’t include every improvement behind the scenes!

Building an intelligent workflow platform

Early in the year, we introduced multiple drafts for Change Control. This feature enables builders to work on the same project simultaneously, each within their own draft environment. The upside?

  • Staying in control at scale

  • Building better builders within the team

  • Providing necessary oversight into critical workflows

Agents were the talk of the town in 2025. Tines CEO Eoin Hinchy shared his thoughts on how they could help end muckwork, and shortly after, we launched the AI Agent action. With this updated action, users can build and deploy agents directly in Tines from the Storyboard, tailoring them to their needs using tools, templates, and chat modes.

We also wanted to stretch the limits of incorporating LLMs into intelligent workflows. (They aren’t called intelligent for nothing!). Model Context Protocol (MCPs) enable Tines to support AI programs for our builders regardless of where their MCP server lives. MCP servers can either be built directly onto the Tines Storyboard or reside in another system and be attached as a tool to the AI Agent action.

Another key focus area for the platform was Cases. We significantly enhanced case organization by introducing new features like additional content blocks, dynamically embedding a Tines page, and an intuitive case navigation experience. Now, cases can highlight and collect critical information, allowing viewers to quickly review the context they need. Furthermore, the addition of task management was something our builders were particularly excited about, as it allowed them to efficiently track and manage case work by creating or assigning tasks directly within a case.

A few more platform highlights

And so much more on the AI front! With 60 different “What’s new” posts throughout the year, our focus was to extend the reach of what a Tines workflow could accomplish through LLMs.

Intelligent workflows in action

Year over year, we’re inspired and proud of what our builders are doing in Tines. We like to share that inspiration every chance we get. Last year, we extended how we celebrate our builders, including the Top Builder awards and a revamp of our University program, while continuing our wildly successful You Did WHAT With Tines?! (YDWWT) competitions and worldwide builder events.

A big congratulations goes out to our Top Builders of 2025! At the tippity-top, our Gold Top Builders consisted of the top 0.2% of builders in Tines - WOW, now that’s dedication to the build!

Our YDWWT competitions this year showcased just some of the workflows our talented community built. A special shout-out goes to our winners:

All Tines- and community-created workflows can be found in the Tines Library. Which celebrated a significant milestone this year, publishing the 1,000th library story entry by Haley Kidd from GE Vernova! Read more about Haley’s workflow and why the Tines Library is always Haley’s first stop when tackling a new process.

But, we don’t let our customers have all the fun with building. Our own employees use Tines in their everyday lives, whether for work or fun. This year, we hosted our first AI hackathon. The winning team created a Content Review Bot that speeds up how we create and update product content by tracking releases from our “What’s new” page. Read more about their explanation here. And, we’re going to continue the Tines x Tines conversations into 2026. Check out what our new Head of Intelligent Workflows, Martin Moroney, has planned here

Looking ahead to 2026

There’s a lot to look forward to in the year ahead. Here are some key areas we’re particularly excited about:

Doubling down on the joy of building: Most of our customers tell us their favorite product to use every day is Tines. In 2026, we’re focused on bringing you more joyful moments within the platform that will have you building like a pro and solidifying Tines as your go-to software.

Extending interaction surfaces: Tines is the intelligent workflow platform for your whole team. This means we want to be the default software and reduce barriers to introducing Tines to more colleagues. Keep an eye out for more ways to interact with Tines across teams.

Understanding workflow maturity: Intelligent workflows begin with a clear understanding of organizational goals and a high level of trust in AI. Our aim for 2026 is to help close the value gap in your tech stack and take your workflows to the next level.

Spending time with and celebrating our builders: With events happening around the globe, we’re focused on bringing our community together and celebrating standout intelligent workflows that fit into any need.
