When using a Send-to-Story as a tool in Workbench or an AI Agent action, you can now configure a "Timeout Duration". With this setting configured, tool uses for the story will gracefully conclude after the timeout duration has elapsed if the underlying story has not completed in time. This allows the AI to attempt other approaches to achieving it's goal when long-running stories are involved.

There are two ways to configure a timeout duration for a Send-to-Story.

Send-to-Story settings 

You can configure the timeout duration in the Send-to-Story settings panel within the story itself. This will be the timeout duration used by default when the story is invoked by Workbench or an AI agent.

AI Agent tool options 

You can also add the timeout duration as an option at the per-tool level on your AI agent. This option will override whatever timeout duration was set in the Send-to-Story settings.
