Create and manage team presets

Team presets let admins preconfigure tools and instructions that all team members can use. Instead of each person setting up their own configuration, a preset packages everything together.

What are team presets?

A team preset is a preconfigured collection of templates with specific credentials, stories enabled for Workbench, and custom instructions. When a team member selects a preset, they get all of this automatically, without any individual setup.

Who can create presets?

Team admins and custom roles with the permissions to manage a team can create, edit, and delete presets.

Create a preset

  1. Start by configuring your tools. Under All tools, set up the templates, credentials, and stories you want to include.

  2. Click All tools, then click Create preset.

  3. Select which team should have access.

  4. Give your preset a descriptive name that makes its purpose clear, something like "IT Service Desk" or "Security Incident Response."

  5. Write custom instructions specific to this preset's use case.

  6. Click Create.

❗️Important

✋ Try this: Create a team preset

In this exercise, you'll create a preset for an IT support team that handles user lookups, Jira ticket management, and Slack communications. Instead of each analyst configuring these tools individually, you'll package them into a single preset with focused custom instructions.

Once created, any team member who selects "IT Support" gets all the tools and instructions ready to go, no individual setup required.

What to include in a preset

Think about the specific use case the preset supports. For example:

  • A Security triage preset might include templates for querying SIEM and EDR tools, stories for alert enrichment and threat intelligence lookups, custom instructions focused on rapid triage, and confirmation enabled for sensitive operations.

  • A User support preset might include templates for Okta and HR system lookups, stories for user provisioning and access requests, custom instructions that prioritize user privacy, and confirmation enabled for account modifications.

  • A Reporting preset might include templates for data source queries, stories for data aggregation, Code analyst for visualizations, and custom instructions for generating executive-friendly summaries.

Edit existing presets

Team admins can edit presets at any time. Changes take effect immediately for all team members. This makes it straightforward to add new tools, update instructions, or adjust credential configurations as your team's needs change.

🪄Tip

Delete presets

Presets can be deleted when they're no longer needed. Before you do, check whether team members are still actively using them. Communicate the change in advance.
