What is Workbench?

Workbench is Tines' AI-powered chat interface. It can access data from across your stack and take action on your behalf using tools that come from the workflows you build. This keeps AI capabilities tied to your actual environment, with the security and privacy guardrails your team needs.

What makes Workbench different?

Here's how Workbench differs from standalone AI chat tools:

  • Tines-native integration: Workbench isn't just connected to Tines; it's built into the platform. It can interact with your data in real time, integrate with external systems, and use that shared context to perform actions.

  • Tool access: Workbench can execute actions using templates (pre-built integrations), stories (your custom workflows), and internal tools (built-in capabilities like code generation and formula documentation).

  • Data privacy: All conversations and data stay within your Tines tenant.

  • User-specific scope: Your conversations, tool configurations, and custom instructions are yours alone. Team admins can create shared presets that are available to everyone on the team.

  • Credential access: Workbench can use credentials you've configured to interact with external systems securely, without exposing authentication details.
