What are dashboards?

Understanding dashboards in Tines

Dashboards are visual displays of key information that help you track and analyze your records data at a glance. They bring together metrics, charts, and tables in one view, making it easier to answer questions like:

  • How many requests did we process this month?

  • How is our records data distributed across field values?

  • Which workflows are generating the most data?

Tines dashboards give you a quick overview of your records data, helping you spot trends and patterns instead of digging through individual records.

Dashboards give you real-time visibility into workflow performance, helping you make decisions based on evidence rather than guesswork.

Dashboard components

Dashboards are built using widgets, which are individual visual elements that display specific data. Common widget types include:

  • Charts: Visualize trends and distributions (bar charts, pie charts, line graphs).

  • Tables: Display detailed record information in rows and columns.

  • Metrics: Show single key numbers like total records captured or average values.

  • Filters: Allow viewers to narrow down data by date range, story, or field values.

You can combine multiple widgets on a single dashboard to create a comprehensive view of your workflow data. Each widget pulls data directly from your records, updating in real time as new records are captured.
