Introduction

Welcome to the Resources module! In this module, we'll explore one of Tines' features: Resources. Think of resources as your workflow's memory bank, allowing you to store and retrieve information that persists beyond individual story runs.

While events are temporary and exist only during a story run, resources provide a permanent home for data that needs to be accessed across multiple runs or even different stories. Whether you need to maintain configuration settings, track counters, or share information between workflows, resources enable your workflows to remember and evolve over time.

By the end of this module, you'll understand how resources fit into the Tines architecture and how to leverage them to build more sophisticated, stateful workflows that can maintain context and share data efficiently.

Learning objectives

By the end of this module, you'll be able to:

  • Explain what resources are and how they differ from events in the Tines architecture.

  • Identify scenarios where resources provide the best solution for data storage needs.

  • Implement resources in your stories to store and retrieve persistent data.
