Introduction

Send to story is one of Tines' most powerful features for building scalable, maintainable workflows. It allows you to break complex logic into smaller, reusable pieces called sub-stories. Instead of building the same logic over and over in different stories, you create it once and call it whenever you need it.

In this module, you'll learn how to use send to story to create modular workflows that are easier to build, test, and maintain. We'll start with the basics of what send to story is and when to use it, then move into the technical details of how it works. You'll learn how to design effective sub-stories that follow best practices, and finally, how to architect larger systems using multiple sub-stories working together. By the end of this module, you'll be able to build reusable automation components that save time and reduce errors across your workflows.

Learning objectives

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Identify when to use send to story to improve workflow maintainability and reduce duplication.

  • Configure sub-stories with entry actions, exit actions, and defined inputs to create reusable workflows.

  • Design effective sub-stories with clear contracts, predictable outputs, and proper error handling.
