As a sales engineer, Claire Hendrick is the human bridge that introduces potential customers to the true power of Tines. Whether it be for security teams with specific problems to solve or those simply interested in understanding our automation platform from every angle possible, Claire creates connections between what makes Tines unique while demonstrating customer value across every possible use case.

Can you tell us a little more about yourself?

I’m Claire, and I joined Tines as a Sales Engineer in April 2021. After spending a few years living in Holland & Germany, I split my time between Dublin and Cavan. Tines offers me the flexibility to easily manage this while working remotely. However, after what seems like an eternity of lockdown, it was great to meet my colleagues recently in the new Dublin office.

What do you do at Tines?

Being a Sales Engineer is a little bit like being an Agony Aunt, although thankfully, the issues tend to be technical, not personal.

My role is to understand the customers’ needs and help to solve their problems. I find that most people don’t really understand the power of Tines until we start to work through their process and show them how we can help, and because Tines is so flexible, the process for every customer is different."

What’s the coolest thing you’ve worked on to date?

This is a tough one because I’m introduced to different use cases and different tools every day. That’s what makes me tick, and I love trying to figure it all out.

One part of my role is to train all of our new colleagues on how to automate processes using Tines regardless of their role. Taking somebody with no technical background and enabling them to create an automation story is probably the coolest part of my job!

What does a typical workday or week look like?

Because of the flexible nature of Tines, both as a company and a product, I don’t really have a typical day! I could be working from my home in Cavan or with family in Dublin, or now that restrictions are lifting, I could be in the office. Most of my day is spent investigating different APIs and figuring out how to work them into customers’ use cases, but as every case and every API call is different, it never really feels typical.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Outside of work, I live with my dog Sparky (Honorary Tines team member), so I spend a lot of my spare time out walking around the lakes & forests that surround us in Cavan. Now that we are emerging from Covid restrictions, I’m enjoying socializing again and looking forward to live events like gigs and theatre. If you can’t find me when I’m supposed to be in the office, I’ll probably be down in the yoga studio!
