People come to the world of sales development with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Tines' sales team has grown by leaps and bounds this year, with no signs of slowing down. In this post, Sales Development Representative [SDR] Ciara Molony shares more about her role and what she enjoys most about working closely with potential customers and introducing them to Tines.

Can you tell us a little bit more about yourself?

I’m Ciara - a Sales Development Representative at Tines, a passionate foodie and a sports and fitness enthusiast. I live in Dublin, very close to the sea, but I also spend a lot of time on the West Coast of Ireland in Lahinch, County Clare.

I studied Commerce at University College Dublin, where I learned the fundamentals of sales and marketing. I am passionate about nurturing professional relationships and enjoy seeing the impact they can have, and for that reason, I decided to join Tines. The amazing culture at Tines was obvious to me from the very beginning at the interview stage. My journey with Tines so far has been incredible, and I feel privileged to be part of something very special. I feel supported and encouraged by my team to achieve my best.

What do you do at Tines?

As an SDR at Tines, I am responsible for engaging inbound leads, prospecting outbound leads, and sourcing new opportunities. The great thing about Tines is that we are completely vendor agnostic. Although many prospective customers I engage with have similar pain points, their tech stack can be completely different, so my conversations can vary a lot. However, Tines can integrate with any tool in a customer’s tech stack via an API, so I definitely feel like I have the power to say ‘Yes’ to customers.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve worked on at Tines to date?

I think one of the coolest things about my role is that I am often the first touchpoint for a customer in Tines. I enjoy meeting prospective customers and explaining how Tines can help solve issues they face every day, like overworked staff, alert fatigue, and the fear of the inevitable security breach. I have a natural tendency to want to help people, and I have seen the powerful impact Tines has had on customers already by saving time and resources, so this drives me to explore more companies I can help.

Who or what has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work?

I feel empowered by the incredible team I work with. From the engineering team to the sales team to our two founders and everyone in between, we are all in it together. I have learned so much from my colleagues already, and I feel lucky to be surrounded by such talented people. I firmly believe that I will never stop learning and developing as I progress my career with Tines, thanks to the incredible support in place for me.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I really enjoy cooking and baking. I make my own sourdough every week, which involves nurturing a sourdough baby (or more commonly known as a sourdough starter!). Each week I feed it flour and water so that it is strong enough to make bread with. I also do regular boxing classes, which I find a great way to switch off from work. They’re intense fitness classes which are a combination of HIIT exercises as well as boxing. You can also find me freezing in the Irish sea from time to time.
